How to do a good job in the detection of space frame connection points

The space frame steel structure is widely used in various projects, and the connection points should be inspected to ensure the safety of the project.

Inspection 1. Inspection of connecting board 

1.Check whether the size (especially the thickness) of the connecting board meets the       requirements;

2.Check its flatness;

3.Measure the actual size reduction caused by bolt holes, etc.;

4.Check for damage such as cracks and local defects.

Inspection 2. For the bolt connection

a combination of visual inspection and hammering can be used for inspection. And use a torque wrench to recheck the tightness of the bolts, especially the connection of high-strength bolts should be carefully checked. In addition, the diameter, number, and arrangement of bolts are also  checked one by one.

Inspection 3 

Welding connection is currently the most widely used, and there are many accidents, so its defects should be checked.

Inspection 4

When inspecting weld defects, ultrasonic flaw detectors or radiation detectors can be used. The appearance quality inspection should be carried out before the internal defects of the welds are inspected.

Inspection 5 

The inspection of the surface quality of the weld can be visually inspected or with a magnifying glass of 10 times.

Inspection 6

The overall dimensions of the weld are generally measured with a weld inspection ruler.
